The pace of our growth has been impressive: from the birth of our Company in the French Loire Valley with just 9 people, we have expanded to a global international presence bolstered by a workforce now totaling over 20 000 individuals worldwide.

Underlying this expansion is a policy of systematically planned recruitment and training.

All positions are of necessity highly qualified, due to the unusually high standards of our profession.


The exigencies and sophistication of synthesizing and manufacturing drugs are such that no position can be considered menial and all require sound judgment, conscientiousness, and motivation. This also explains the day-by-day increase in the number and complexity of qualifications required by our activities.

This is why the pharmaceutical industry deserves recognition as a leading industry, one of the most important in terms of usefulness, and a major source of pride, prestige, and wealth for those nations who understand how to help— or let—it thrive.

The pharmaceutical industry is just as important to the economy as the computer and aerospace industries.

As a research-based industry, we are a major purveyor of employment, simply because there are no limits to our needs. Contrary to immediate demands for industrial consumer goods, which may be anticipated in order to adapt production means, the demands of pharmaceutical research know no bounds, because there will always be unsatisfied health needs.
